DMCA & Copyright Policy — NordicTV

NordicTV respects the intellectual property rights of content creators and rights holders. We comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and equivalent copyright legislation applicable in Canada, including the Copyright Modernization Act. This policy explains our procedures for addressing copyright infringement claims.

1. Our Content Licensing Position

NordicTV operates as a lawful reseller of IPTV subscription services and does not host, store, or originate the content delivered through the Service. All channels and video-on-demand content are sourced from licensed content providers and distributors. We are committed to ensuring our operations respect applicable copyright laws in Canada and internationally.

2. Reporting Copyright Infringement (Takedown Notice)

If you are a copyright owner or authorized agent and believe that content accessible through https://nordictv.ca infringes your copyright, you may submit a written DMCA takedown notice to our designated agent.

Your notice must include ALL of the following:

• Identification of the copyrighted work — A description of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed. If multiple works are covered, a representative list is acceptable.
• Identification of the infringing material — The specific URL(s) or sufficient information to locate the allegedly infringing content on nordictv.ca.
• Your contact information — Your full name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
• Good faith statement — A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use of the material is not authorized.
• Accuracy statement — A statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner.
• Signature — Your physical or electronic signature.

We will acknowledge receipt of valid notices within 5 business days and take appropriate action.

3. Counter-Notification

If you believe that content was removed or disabled as a result of a mistake or misidentification, you may submit a written counter-notification to [email protected].

Your counter-notice must include:

• Identification of the removed content — Description and URL(s).
• Statement under penalty of perjury — A statement that you have a good faith belief that the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
• Your contact information — Full name, address, telephone number, and email address.
• Consent to jurisdiction — A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the courts of Quebec, Canada and that you will accept service of process from the party who submitted the original takedown notice.
• Signature — Your physical or electronic signature.

Upon receipt of a valid counter-notification, we will forward it to the original complainant. If the complainant does not file a court action within 10-14 business days, we may restore the content at our discretion.

4. Repeat Infringer Policy

NordicTV maintains a strict policy regarding repeat infringers in accordance with the DMCA and applicable Canadian copyright law:

• Accounts that are the subject of multiple valid copyright infringement notices will be reviewed.
• NordicTV reserves the right to terminate subscriptions of users who are determined to be repeat infringers.
• Termination for repeat infringement does not entitle the user to a refund.

5. Misuse of the DMCA Process

Filing a false DMCA takedown notice is a serious legal matter. Under the DMCA (17 U.S.C. § 512(f)) and Canadian Copyright Act provisions, any person who knowingly misrepresents that material is infringing may be subject to liability for damages, including costs and attorney fees.
